Description
Navajo silversmith Bennie Ration, known for his kachina pieces, created this unique and interesting cuff bracelet with lapis and sterling silver. The piece showcases a single, large lapis piece, varying denim to dark blue and containing large portions of pyrite. A single, detailed, sterling silver koshare is appliqued to the surface of the lapis piece, holding what appear to be a knife and some type of melon. The koshare features cut out eyes and mouth, along with textured portions of clothing and an adorable hat. Stone is set in a simple sterling silver bezel surrounded at the base by a sterling band that has been stamped and cut out to form a pattern. Stone and silverwork are attached to a split sterling silver shank that merges at each end. 2 3/8″ long x 1 5/8″ wide. Cuff’s inner measurement is 5 5/8″ with a 1 1/4″ opening.
