Description
A seated Pueblo woman is flanked by two children in this small yet intricate storyteller figurine by Jemez potter Carol Lucero Gachupin. A girl rests on her lap, right next to a basket, partially covered by the shawl that also covers the seated woman and the boy flanking her shoulder. The boy holds a book, and the woman’s mouth is open, while the two children smile. The woman is painted beautifully and colorfully in black, white, red, and turquoise, a turquoise painted necklace surrounding her neck, her long black hair flowing down the back of the shawl. 3 1/4″ tall x 2 5/8″ wide x 3 3/4″ deep.
