Hopi potter Joy Navasie, better known as Frog Woman, was one of the most prolific potters of her time, and her pieces, in her death, have become prized and sought-after. While known to create several forms of pottery, Frog Woman rarely created wedding vases, making this piece truly unique. The vase, created in the 1980’s, is precisely painted with myriad geometric designs, including kiva steps, set within larger feather patterns on each side of the piece. Tadpoles are also painted on each side of the vase, with step and triangle patterns featured along the handle. The piece is beautifully polished and in excellent condition. 12″ tall x 7″ wide.
