Squared off, rather than rounded, tularosa patterns are painted in various iterations along the surface of this beautiful handmade and hand painted jar by Laguna potter Myron Sarracino. Very little pottery is being made out of Laguna today, and Myron strives to carry on the tradition, creating pieces that feature old patterns from the Pueblo and his family. This polychrome piece is painted predominantly in black atop a white background, with hints of orange creating triangles along the bottom. Patterns, aside from the tularosa (whirlwind) designs include dots, fine lines, and step patterns. 6 7/8″ tall x 7 1/2″ wide.
